Assumed Identity Through Personal Objects
Fall 2022
Graphic design
Adobe photoshop
Created during my freshman year college studio class, this project developed four graphic iterations using personally significant objects — my hand, an alpaca, statues of Qin Shi Huangdi and Confucius, my late grandmother's vintage Chinese porcelain plate, and Korean instant ramen packets — manipulating shape, color, and scale across each iteration before arriving at a final composition. Built in Adobe Photoshop and Autodesk Sketchbook, the final piece draws inspiration from Chinese ivory carving, using the alpaca's form to construct ornate golden architectural details throughout. An imperial red and gold palette establishes a dynastic atmosphere, while layered shadows add sculptural depth and dimension.
