This assignment required writing five one-page creative entries (300–500 words each), with each piece poetically and experimentally capturing the uniqueness of a sensory encounter through the concept of dérives, emphasizing observation, wandering, and embodied experience. For my project, I explored the expressive potential of language by using alliteration as a central stylistic device to convey each of the five senses. I incorporated personification and rhyme to create rhythm and depth, aiming to make each piece immersive and evocative while reflecting the emotional and physical nuances of each sensory experience.
