Memories We Made
Fall 2021
fashion design, digital illustration, graphic design
Tulle, cotton, coat paper, coque feathers, elastic, Autodesk sketchbook, adobe photoshop
Memories We Made is a senior year wearable art piece created for my Parsons portfolio, representing my personal emergence from the pandemic and the confidence I gained through it. Standing over 6.5 feet tall, the gown is constructed from layered tulle — creating varying depths of transparency — with printed yearbook "Zoom" panels sewn throughout, some buried within the fabric and others at the forefront, symbolizing the gradual process of resurfacing from isolation. A crown, corset centerpiece, and cobalt blue and orange feather detailing draw from Haute Couture and MET Gala aesthetics, evoking themes of transformation and taking flight. The piece is framed within a large red structure representing a Zoom panel — a threshold I am stepping through into a post-pandemic world.
