As part of my AP 3D Art and Design portfolio in my junior year, I created Incalescence — a wearable art piece crafted from plush cotton fabric in deep red tones, inspired by a moment of lying on scorching asphalt during a climate change protest. The warmth of the materials and color palette reflect the urgency of rising global temperatures, while the face mask and virus-shaped scrunchie headpiece speak to the pervasive, life-threatening consequences of environmental neglect. The piece was photographed and styled by me, selected with deliberate attention to location and context.
